Camp near Powers fary on Chatahooche
river 14 miles above Atlanter this the
12 of June 1864 Dear wife I Seat my Self
to pen you afew lines which leaves
me well and I hope when these few
lines comes to hand they will find you
well I have no god nuse to rite to
you we left atlanta last thursday
and got hear last friday friday nite
about 10 Oclock we got orders to
march to rosvill Bridg to whipe
the yankes back they had to have som
men to guard the camps I Stade hear
the most of the boys left and took up
the march hit was about fiften miles
from hear up the river we are
about 7 miles from the yankes
you neadent be uneasy about me
I will make out I think the yankes
will come home with us som day
or clost be hind us When the
boys got to the bridg there want
no yankes ther nor hadent bin ther
the boys got back to day saft all
very tird I dont now when we
will git to come home som thinks
we will git to come home
be fore long
