Georgia Franklin County [July 2, 1864]
Dear Husband I write you
a letter informing of our
health myself I have
not bin well for some
time but have kep up
the most of the time
the rest are all well as
common I hope this may
find you well and doing well
I have no news to write we
have a heap of rain and
wet wether and the Creak
has a fress [1] in it we are
giting on tollerable well
with our work and our Corn
looks tolerable well some
taslle in the hil side corn
we have got the wheat Cut
and Thomas is Cuting oats
to day I want you to com

home if you can for I
want to se you the worst
in the world but I dont
want you to come home
without a lawful Chance
some comes home dry
so but I want you to
wait tell you git a fur
low your Uncle Dave
has got sceard and is
trying to get a discharg
but J Browner [2] did not
gave him one. I receved
three letters from you
sence you left they
afforded me much satis
faction I want to git more
and oftener your father
sais he is coming out to
se you when he gits done
laying by his Crop and
ef you want any thing

must write so that
I can send it to you
I recved a letter last thur but
it want mine
ef you se Henry
Adcock tell him to back his
letters to sarah frances
watkins and then I wont
git his letters I ant get
to se Mem Crump [3] to
se about that money but
I will as soon as I can
I have nothing more at
presant but write shore
and often so remaining
your untell Death
