Georgia Franklin County [August 24, 1864]
Dear Husband I am permited
of god to write you a letter
informing you that we are in
Common health and all the
Connection are well also I hope
this letter may find you well
and giting on rite I receved
a letter from you dated the 8th
of August and was glad to hear
from you but sorry to hear
that you was not well I have
reseved 14 letter from you
in all Ant Sally Watkins
said she wants to se you very
bad she taks on mitly I
can tell you Posey Guest has
got home on a thirty days
furlow he is able to knock
about looks badly Pres Payne
is at home on furlow little
Ches Payne has come home

dry so I can tell you we hav
got a good Crop of Corn an
think we have a verry likly
potatoes Crop our horses
finely the stears looks
well and has growed Hogs
are doing prime for the feed
I am a fraid that the stears
will be taken but I hope
not I have nothing more spes[??]
but I want you to write soon
so that I can hear from you
and know how you are I
forgot I think thir is tolo[ble?]
good Croprops on [lether???]
and as good as an average
Crop or better no more
at presant but remains
yours untell death
