to Drop you afew lines to
informe you that we air all
well at preasent hoping those
few lines may find you
and the Babys the Same ihave
no nuse to write to you at
this time it is Suposed
that we will leave here to
morrow for washington sity
we air all as fat as hogs
and as lazy as adog when
the Sun Shines hot the
Gress Biles out my socks
is greazy rite now rite to
us as soun as you get this
ihave got to leave aplace here
in this leter for Pa to write

never recived but one letter from you Sence
i left home and i am Shure if you onley
could no how excedingly anshious i am to hear
from my dear wife an pore little children
you wold write oftener my dear for god Sake
if you thinke any thing of your husband
do let me hear from you i long for the
time to cum when we Shall meet and
imbrace each other again in this world
and if god will onley Spair my life to get
home to you again tha may all fight that
wants to but as for my part i Shall
Stay by your Side i rote you what things
i wanted you to Send to me an also rote to
mr Stepen brown to have them boxt up
an sent to me do this for me my darling
and may god Speed the time for us to
come home to you again
