Dear mother I take my pen
in hand this morning to drop
you a few lines to let you
Know that We are all Well
at present hoping those few
lines may find you the Same
do not think hardof me for
not Writing to you John wirtes [1]
I thought that Would do
I was on picket last week
and had a fine time there
was a fight at LeesBurg the
other day and tuok 50000 prisoners
and Ran 300 in the River and
took 6 Cannon exuse my short
