Orange Cort House va April 6th 1862

To mrs Everett
Dear ma
I take my pen
in hand this morning to Drop you
afew lines to let you know that I am
well at Preasent hoping those few
lines may find you the same I have
not got any nuse to write to you
that would interrest you we air here
at orange Cort house yet But I cant tell
how long we will stay here I thought
that I would write you afew lines and
send it to you By Mr George White
as he is going home he will put
it in the office at Perry and it will
go rite Streight to you I am going
to Send you some money when I draw
again Brother and my Self will
send you ABout $25 Dollars that will
help you Along rite Smart if I had
the money to spare I would send it
to you rite now in this letter But
I have not got it you must
write as soon as you get this letter
