Pleasure tha ti take the opputunity this
Beautiful Sabath Evening to Drop you afew
lines to let you no that I am not
well at this time But I hope those
few lines may find you and the
chrildren all well I have Bin Sick
three or for days But I still Keep up
we air on Picket Duty now and has
Bin on Picket 3 days I went over our
lines yesterday and Swapt Papers with
the yanks they talked as friendyly
with me as if I had Bin thair Brother
they said that we was mity friendly
Pepel and would not Shout at one an
other while on Picket I told them that we
was as friendly with them as any Boddy
all we wanted was our rits and we
was going to have them the yanks said
that they thought Peace would Bee maid
Befor much longer that is if they
got Richmond I told him that if Peace
was never made till they got Richmond
that it would never Bee made for they
could not take Richmond with all of thair
forces rite here in apile and then

they would have to Kill Every one of our
men Before they took it then, they Shot
abumb Shell at the 8th ga reg day Before yesterday
and it Busted and kild Robert Lawson
he was shot all too Peaces he was Buered
yesterday I was verry sorry to here of
Bobs death But it could not Bee hope
he was kild in a good Cause it may
fall to my lot to Bee kild Just in that
way if it Dose I hope that we shall all
meet in heaven I have not got any
nuse to write to you that would interest
you at this time so I will come to
a close By asking you to write Soon
and tell me all the nuse ,
