Oct 26th 1862
Dear Ma
it is with great Pleasure that
I take the oppunity this holy Sabath
morning [???] you afew lines to
let you no that I am well at this time
and I hope this will find you and the
rest of the famiely Injoying the same
Blessings I herd the other day that you was
verry sick and I was Sorry to here it
John [??????] told me that you
was sick he said that you had some
Socks to Send to me By him But
you was sick at the time he left and
Could not Send them I wish I had
them for I have not got none nor
havent had in three months and
it is cold wether now and I need some
I have not got But 1 Blanket and
you have no idie how I Suffer with
coald I want you to send me one &
them large Bed Blankets By Capt Fudge
and all so send me a good pr of knit
Gloves if you please [????????????????] [1]
how much I suffer with coald of a night
when I have to stand guard it is hard
But I cant help it if I could I would
for I am just as tired of this ware as
any Boddy in the Confederate States
Just to think that I have Bin away
from home 16 months and cant get
to go home at all this ware

longer no how and maby I can go
home when the ware Breaks if

to tell you that I went to church yesterday
