Dear ma
I have Just Recived youre verry kind
letter dated Sept 1st you have no
idier how Glad I was to get one more
letter from my Sweet Oald home
It Revived my feelings verry much
I was verry glad to here that you was all
well this leaves me and Brother Both in
verry goud health and I am in hops that
this will find you the Same you Said in
youre letter that you wanted to know how
I was off for Clothing if I needed any to
informe you what it was and you would
Send it to me by william martin
I need 1 goud pr of winter Pants and one
or too prs of Socks and a goud thick hom
Spone Shirt that is all that I want at
this time you Said Somthing in youre
letter about my Shoe tools that you could
sell them rite a way if you had my Consent
to Sell them you said that you was trobled
verry much with them about lonin them
out

you to take goud Care of them for me if
you Can posibly do So the yankees may
not happen to get me and if they do kill

afraid that you would never see me

or die from Sickness that I will get off

to See you all once more in life I am agoing
to Keep on trying untill I do Succeed in geting
off I Intend to live in hops if I die in Dispair
you Said in youre letter that if I had bin
at the Hospital as much as Thomas has that
you belived that I would of went home well
that is my notion if I am Ever Sent
to a hopital I am going to go home Sure I all
ways said that I would go and I will do it too

I have seen Captain Fudge about the money and
he Says that he will send it to you Just as
Soon as he can Go to Richmond and fix it up
he Says that you Shall have it and you must
Rest Eassy about it for he will Send it to
you Just as Soun as he can go to Richond
and fix the papers all rite I wish that
you had it now for I no that you need it
Capt Fudge did not get the letter that you
wrote to him well I have Just Eate Dinner
and I am mity Sleepy So I will have to close
brother sends his Respects to you and the
Rest of the family tell Buck that I will
Come home Before verry much longer
I want to See him mity bad Give my
Best Respects to all and Recive a large
Portion for youre Self Nothing more
at this time Only I Still Remain yourse
