February 11th 1864
Dear ma
I take my pen in hand this
Evening to Drop you afew lines to
let you no that I am in verry good
health at this time and I hope
when you get this it may find
you and the family in the best
of health, I recvved youre letter
last knight that you Sent by
mr King I was verry glad to
from you but Sorry to hear
that you want me to Send
my Dear little Brothers
Ambroughtype I did not no
what you ment by it what is
the matter I want you to Explain
youre Self in youre next letter
and I want it done in a plain
maner if you dont want me
to have it of Course I will send it

back to you I would like mity
well to keep it but if you
want it I will send it by the
first chance I Saw Capt Fudge
about that money matter and
he says that he will fix it
up for you he is trying to get
afurlough and if he gets it
he will get the money for
you when he Goes home
Well ma I am in a goverment
Shop at New market making
& mending Shoes for my brigade
I cant tell how long I will Stay
in the Shop but I hope I will Stay in it all the winter
well as it is geting late & I have
no nuse to write I think I had
better come to aclose for this
time Give my love to all
of the famiely and tell me
in your next letter if that
Sweet little baby can talk
any yet or not Kiss them
