I take the opportunity this morning to
Write you afew lines to let you no
that I am not well nor I have
not Seen a well day in Some
time I have the fever Every
day We have had another fight
recently and the yankies Put the
Negros in front of them and they
run rite on us with too lines
of Battle and we charged them
Back Some Distence thair was
one man killed in our Company
and one wounded in fact thair
was not many Killed on our
Side But the yankies did louse
a many man Well ma
Irecived aletter from you

Glad to hear from you R R King
has God Back and he give me the
letter all So he said that he Had
ashirt for me he put it in
our waggon as I was not hear at
the time and the Armey was in
motion So he thought it Best
to Put it in the waggon with the
Captains Cloths Well ma I will Bring
my letter to a Speedy Close By asking
you to write Soon and give me all
the Nuse Give my Best Respets
to all and Recive alarge Portion
for your Self,
