the 7th 1861
Manassas Junction Va Sept..

Dear Uncle
I again
Seat myself to in form you
that I am in the enjoyment
of fine health at this time
hopeing that these few lines may
find you & family in the
enjoyment of the Same
I have writen to you & your
family 5 letters but never have
received the Scratch of a pen
from any of you & I never
will lift a pen to write you
nor your folks again So help
me god if I doo. if the falt
is in you all for you all
promised as faithful as any one
could. I am positive in it & two
plane but it frets me for others

to get letters from the Same
office that you have to Mail
your letters & never one for
J. Z. Little. it may be because
I pay the postage Some of the
boys pays & others dont & I see
them that dont pay they get one
or two evry week from their
friends & Relatives but not
J. Z. Little. this ends the
writing Subject. now I
will tell you Some thing else
though I am in different about
it. but we hear the roar
and noise of cannons at the
rates of about 25 different
Sound in a minute. we have
a fine time time when we
get home again I could tell
you all a great eel if I could
See you that I cant write
but we all think that wee
will get home by or before

great god who made us
grant that we may
for I want to See the Georgia
Girls & would bee right glad
to See the boys but great
god & a heap of Devils how
Glad I would bee just to See
D C I Must Close as it
verey disagreable to write So
much noise around me
the health of the company
is mending at this time
I am & have been cooking
for from 35 to 50 Sick
men for 12 or 15 days &
Capt Says I will have to cook
for two or 3 Months I have
tried to get off but he Said
no narra get for me
So nothing more Mack
Sends his love R. J. Gordan is sick
& will die without a great
change in him he

wont eat any thing & is
more trouble than than all
the other Sick folks in camps
& he wont take any
Physic till Me or Mack
gives him blessing & I
have got tired of blesing
& will if he dont doo better
have him Sent to the hospital
at Manassas. we have all
of our men in tents to them
-selves & I have to trott from
morning till night & I
have Gordan sent to Manassas
if I will report to the Capt
for he dont know him like
I doo he is peevish &
petish when well & a ding
fool besides you need not
tell Pa & M A & cause them
to bee mad with me
