Dear Sis
I received your kind
letter which was in the evel
lope with Fathers and Mothers
I have sent of[f] one to them
and I now seat my self to
answer your kind letter which
I received Afew days Ago
this letter will in form
you that I am enjoying good
health and hope this may
find you all enjoying the same
Benj is well and is as fat
as A pig and is Just as fun=
ney and as bad as he ever was
he is the only one in the
company that has not been
on the sick list I heard
some of our men say that
he was the best soldier we
had or that he was the
healtheyest one in the company
and I have not been on the
sick list my self only when

I had the measels Dear Sis
you ask benj in your letter to
him who it was that hurt my
feelings it was no boddy it
was A Joke I had on Son
but no boddy has not hurt
my feelings at all well if they
had dont you think I would
tell you as quick as Ben
would I would tell you any
thing that you want to no if
I could but you nor Mother
nor Father nor Son nor nun
of you could not make me
mad with you all if you
was to try well I will tell
you something About the
weather here it is not very
cold this evening but it is
very slopy and wet the snow
is melting the ground has
been coverd with snow four
days it has froze over
it snowed nearly A day and
night well you may gess
how cold it has been for

the last four days well this
is the 3 snow and one sleet
we have had this winter but
it dont seam as cold to me
as it does in Georgia and it
is colder but it is because
I go thicker clothes is the
rezon I recon well we have
got 1 good log house and
you better beleave we keep
big fiers and me and ben
has got plenty to keep us
warm at night so I am
fairing well at this all
I dred is takeing these
tramps it is the worst of all
all you heard of our tramps
we took chrismas you
no we got back on
Chrismas day after being
gone four days and we have
not been on A tramp since
and I hope we will not
take no more untill the
yankees comes sure nough
So we can get the chance
