Dear Father I take my pen in
hand to drop you a few lines
just to let you no I am enjoying
good helth and hope thiese few
lines will find you the same
I have no news of importance to
write you only Sargent
Wimberly is going home to day on
a furlow no one can go home
only those hwo have buisness
at home I am going to send this
letter by him and I can Speak
a good word for all of our
officers we have a Set of the best
officers in the legion and one of
the best colns in th confedracy [1]
