A hard spell of sickness but
he is sitting by the fier now

se ben get sick for when
he gets sick he is sick shure
enough I had rather be sick
my self than to sea him
get sick it seams like that
I had rather suffer my slef
than to sea any of my people
espeecially when we are of from
home this is the first time
that Ben has been sick since
he left home and I hope
he will be sound and well
in A day or so. Dear Mother

raining evry day now for two

as wet and sloppy as it can
be. it is not very cold since
this wet weather set in well

 now since Chrismas but we
were orderd to the other day
to be ready to march at
 any time that we were

getting very exciting here now at
this time but it will all
