Camp wane Near Atlanta
Dearest Wife I now seat my
self to drop you a few lines to
to let you no that I am well all
to a bad cold I cought which I
caught the other night I hope this
may find you & the children in the
best of health it has been raining
here off & on for the last 10 or 12 days
the way I caught the cold that I
now have was the other night just
as I had lay down there was A
alarm given that the yankees had
made arade on the chatahoochy
river & had burned the bridge
but I knew it was a lie all the time
& so did many others of us but a
way we went & lay out all night
on the wet ground all night & the
way it was cold was the way tell
Aaron he must tend to the taning
& to the garden & that he must

do the best he can & knowes
how for if we dont make plenty
we shall suffer for the people
wont make nothing hardley up
here well as I have no news to
write I will close for there is noth
ing of intrest transpiring we have
moved about 3 miles from where
we first went in to camp I have
not recd but one letter from you
Since I left I am going to try to
get a fur low & come home to have
a division in fathers estate but I
dont no whither I can get one or
not write soon & give me all the
newes kiss little George & [?????]
& Jeff Davis for me & when you
write tell me all about how
they come on & if little La[??]
grows any faster & if little [ben?]
grows as fast as ever May the
