Dear wife it is with greate
plesur that I seate my
Self for the second tim
to inform you that I am in
the best of healt hoping thes
few lines my find you all
the Sam I wrote to you the
nxt day day after I got hear
which was the 15 I hav waited
for & ancer tell I got out of
hart I hav written Seven letter
sens I hav bin hear I recived know
anser we get the mail evry day only
on Sunday it is sunday now
& it is rain it has bin evry day
ever sens I have bin hear until
now thir is agreadeal of sicness
in ouer regiment we have eight or
ten sic in ouer company thir is avery
bad colf in the camp I haven
taken it yet John Peek [2] has the 
most coal I evry Saw Eli Mc
ckeithen [3] has the chils Doc

in camps sens I bin hear I like
camp life as well as I expected or

largest company in the regiment
we have one hundred & thirty
men but thir is about twelve
that is over & under ages
which will go home as soon ouer comp

is not as guod as the fresh water

life will ruin half the people
what dont get kild & Sicen & die
will get so lazy they wont bee

boyes sleeps all knight &

baby one of the captens wives
came to see her husband that
was a site in camp I thort of
you & Etr & Enver I could not help

P.S. Carie as bad as my coal has
bin I have gain 2 ½ lbs sens I landed

made shirts when you get the chance
