Rome Ga May 25 [1862}
Dear Aunt It
is with great pleasure that I Seat my Self to
write you a few lines. I received a letter
from Uncle Thony yestoday and he war at
Savannah which I gues you know he was very
wel l He Says that he thinks all the Soldiers
that does not Sickened and die will die with
Lazzyness Aunt Carry you cannot imagine
how sorry we were to hear that Uncle Thom [1]
was gone to war. I hope you will take
it the best you can And do the best you
can for and you little ones Kiss the little
ones for me and Ma I wish i could
come doun and See you all if times
was not So hard I would come and Stay
untill we find out whether the yankes
take this place or not we have been
look for them here some time but the
People does not think they will come now
we all took a big cry when we heard that
uncle Thom was gone to war Aunt carry you
must not think hard of me for not
writing much for I have not the time

the news write me your little
babies name Aunt Carry you ought
not to of had a girle these war times
you ought to have had a Soldier
I am So busy Sowing all the dress makeing
that I cannot do any thing I have not
any time to write only Sunday and I
had to write to uncle Thomy and
Granmar and you and Uncle Reel
we all Send our love to you and your
dear little children I will Send this in
grammars letter
