present hoping you ar all well we are camt
in the wods about fiv miles north of orrange
cort house we hav bin marchen nearley all the
time sens I have bin with the reg I would do
prety well if I could get my Strengh I cant get
my bouels regulated I think it is what we eate
buef & flouer bread without any thing in it
but Salt & water we get bacon a bout once a
weake then we liv well we drau suger
a bout once a weake but know coffee we parch
cracker & make coffee it dos prety well when we
can get Shugar Carie the 17 reg is up hear some
whire but I hav not see them yet I Shal try
to see Sam & Will J Peek Saw Some of the
boyes the other day at gordonsville but never
saw sam nor william william had not come
up Sam had Step back to get his gun he
had left on the trane I want to get in ther

Carie I hav not heard from you Sens I left Lynchburg
I am ancious to hear from you all I expect thir is
leters in linchburg for me & they wont send
them to me my mind is not off of you &
children five minets at a time except when
I am a Sleape I try to keep from Studing so much
a bout home but I cant helpe it I would giv

I am sory to have to inform you of the death
of S. W. Pope he died the 2 instan dock pope
landed from home tuo or three dayes a go
Carie if I had the chance I would send you
twenty dolars I hav forty dolars & they ar due me
thirty four dolars I dont know when we will
get it write often direct your letter to godonsville
