Dear Carie I receivd yours of the 25 of sepember
yesterday I was more then glad to hear that you
all wer well thes lines leav me tollable well I
hope thes feu lines may find you all the same
I started a letter to you day befor yesterday
but I thort while I had the chance to write I would
due so I expect we will mov in a feu days
but I cant tell whir we will go though I think
we will go doun about Stanton or gordonsville we
hav got to go some whire near the railroad we
cant get provision for the men nor the horses
this part of va is eate out of nearley evry thing
I expect we will wi[n]terit in va I think it doutful
a bout us agetting back to Savannah Col Eavns
dont think we will go but he is trying to get back
he is acten brigadier genral sens Lauton got
wonded Carie me & W Burke has just bin washen
I bored a Sut of clos to put on tell I could wash
mine I had to wash in the branch without any sope
you may know it was a mes I boild them in the
camp citle but I cant get them half clean

bee exchains he was hear yesterday to try to get afurlo
home but fail he will have to just lie thire some
ses tuo or three month I wish he could get off
home whether I duo or knon you say your pa ses
take car of my Self & Stop at the hospitle I Shal
duo the best I can I cant Stop nor fall out
without a paus from the Dr I nvr have don it
yet but thir has bin a greate deal of it don
Jenral Lee has isured & order to Shote all

going on at least I hope so Carie if you have a
plenty of paper when you write send me ahalf
