my dear wife I take the oppurtunity
of dropping you A few lines to let you
know that i am well at this time
hopping these few lines will find you
the same way i received your letter
by the hand of william
Jones on the fourteen of this month
I got the needle and thread you
sent in it I was glad to hear from
you i want you to write oftener if
you Can i have rote two letter
since i left i received the Clothes you
sent me by henry stricland at lenoir
station when
you git this letter write back whether
you git it or not the shoes you
sent me was to small foer me and
i had to sell them i got eight
dollars for them i was glad to hear
that you had the Childrens shoes
made and was glad to hear that you
was a gitting along so well i want
you to send me a pair
of gloves when Josph Johnson
Comes i want to git to Come
home about Christmas if i can
they say that we ar ordered to
