Mrs. Nancy J. Harden
my Dear Companion
[????] the present opportunity
[????] forming you that I am
[???????????] [hoping?]
however that these lines
may reach and find you
all well and doing well
I was taken yesterday by
a feaver and ague the ague
lasted me one hour and a
half. I then had the feaver
I then had the feaver for 8
hourse or more. I feel very Stupid and
dull to day, but a heap better than
I was yesterday. I bought Some
onions yesterday at 50 cts a
quart. I eat of them freely and
I think they help me. There is
only 3 of us here now.
Martin James and my Self [??]
rest being gone home I [have?]
no war news more than
heard. I recon I will
[???] Letter by the time I get [??]
[???] [send?] it [??] the [???]
