Dear Jane. I seat
myself this afternoon . to inform you
that arived hear safe but not Sound
I am Somewhat worern out from
Loss of Sleep. and my Vaccination
is taking which makes me a little
easy at this time.. I have no chance
to get off.. I Shall have to stay here..now
we have marching orders yesterday..
we are Expecting a fight here Soon
The Yan kees have been Shelling us
they killed 2 men yesterday.. We also
hear Some heavy fireing to day but
have not heard any thing of the
result..John A Patterson is well
Mr. Orear and Mr. Benson are not
well. but worern out Like my self
Jane Some body has told E.H.
Martin that I went to Bale cardins. was
right with the Small Pox. and I say
that who ever told it Contrary to the
way I told it told a [peusyblanimous?] [1]
falsehood. direct to W.H. Harden Savanah Ga
