May the 29.th 1863. I will merely state
that I am well this morning, and I am not
on Guard to day it rained very hard
las night and the wind blew a considerable
gale it rained in on us and wet our bed
So that we had to lie on a wet bed
last night But we are getting so
that we can Sleep anywhere
I Seal all my letters with rice..
I want to Smoke so I will quit
until another time
[page 2]
Just so we keep the fleas, and lice off
We are doing well So we dont murmur
at any thin that comes.
So I will close give
my respect to all the Connection
and friends and receive my love to
yourself, and Mollie good bye…
Yours &c. W.H. Harden
