My dear companion
after my best love to you I
can inform you that I am
not well I am new in the
General hospital in savannah
I have got a very sever case
of the measles though I am
not dangerous atall I have
all the attention that I could
ask for the phisicians and
nurses are very kind to
me As much as I would like
to see you I do not think that
it would be adviseable for you
to come here where they are so
many contagious deseases as they
are here They is a very good
chance for me to get a furlough
as soon as I get able to travel
