Staunton Virginia July the 31 the 1862
Dear Mother I will wright you
a fiew lines to let you know how I
am I am as well as Could be expected
at this time I will go to the Regiment
in a fiew days I think I hope that
these lines may find you all in god
helth I have bin at the hospital hear
at this Place about a week I do hope
that Peace will be mad and wee
all go home in Peace and harmony
one time More Wee have to By all that
wee get to eat and pay a large price
for it and Can hardly get it at
any price for it is a scase thing in
Va Some plases there is some of the
grates wheat Crops that I ever saw
in my life I wold like to sea you
all again mighty well but I dont
now when I will get the Chance
of it again I will Close for this
time But will Remaind your sun
