Long Acre Jany 9th 1865
Dear Brothers H. H. & G. E. Bowen
I take this
opportunity to write you again my third or
fourth Letter, Thos I have not Recd any from
you as yet. but I am Glad to say that I hear from
you quite often as Nancy & Mary Gets there
Letters. They have Recd. 2 or 3. in the Last 2 days
and I am very Glad to hear that you are all
well and Getting along so well. Martha Recd.
a Letter or two from Brother Langly of Late
the Last was written the 18th Decr. He was then
tolerable well and Near Richmond where
he had been Ever since he went to the 17th Regt.
We are in very Good health at this time
and family all Except Cornelia and Little
George W. Cornelia has had a very Severe
attact of Rheumatism we think, She has been
very helpless not able to stand alone nor feed
herself but she is better now. She can begin to
Stand alone a Little. George has been a Little
Sick a few days but was about well this morning
So I undersand In Regards to news I have
none of importance to write at this time more than

Josephine Oden was married yesterday
at 3 Ock. and went off home She had
no wedding at all So they Say –
I have rented out the Land as you
requested upon the Same terms as Last
year as you did not State the terms. John
Bowen rented It all for forty dollars
and ten cents, I didnot Know any thing about
yours on Long Ridge till to day. but I will
attend to It as Soon as I can See Old Bro.
Gurganus -- Nothing more at present only
I have had a very dull and Lonesome
Christmas. I would have been So Glad If
you could have been here so that we could
have spent Some time in hunting as we have
So often done in Gone bye days but
as you could not come. I have been at
home all the time and only spent one
day in hunting Mr Durden come over
Last friday and we ran one Deer but
did not Get him. So Good bye
till I hear from you again W. L. Bowen

abd I will Send you the pay for them If you think best. If not I will pay you
