the enemy who carried him to Mr
Isac Myre’s & dressed his wound. He Seemed
to Suffer for two days after which he
appeared easy untill the 23 when he became

of the place hav Spared no pains to
comfort th wounded I hav visited a
number of the Ladies who attended

know him & had taken an interest
in his welfare. I have the names
of those who gav him Clothes & talked
freely with him. He often Said he
was willing & ready to die & told them
how he had been taught & how thankful
he was for it He Spoke of Ma & Said

I gathered all the information I could
till Sunset yesterday & then repaired to
look at Brothers grave. it was well marked
He was buried between a Tenn & a Va Soldier
in the Dunkard Church yard Imagine my
feeling after being in suspense for three
weeks to get back the day after he was
buried I went alone to his grave & it
soon became dark & I did not wish to leave
him nor I did not I remained there
untill this morning but now duty calls
me away I belong to Breckenridges Corps
& it is ten miles from here I will
join them to night. Father Mother & Sisters
grieve not for our Loved Brother I have
evry evidence of his christianity I have
wept almost ever Since I came here but I
am calm now & upon reflection it looks
verry wrong to wish Brother to be taken
from heaven & brought back in this
warfareing world. No loved friends we will
not wish him back, but we will
prepare & meet him in Heaven. He
bore his Suffering with the greates fortitude
because he was prepared to go So let
us beare the loss for all is well with him
