Dear uncle
this morning finds
me quite well and now iwill try
answer you letter that I received
from you By the hand of D.W. B. [1]
I vary glad to here that you and
your Family was well .. I have
no news of intrest to write only
that we ar all doing vary well . . .
The helth of this Ramend is vary
good we ar geting plenty of Bred
and meat to eat. and we Can Steel
as many watermilions as we want
so the 6 Cav. will not starve while
eney Body els has eney thing to eat . . .
I Can Say to you that I am very well
Satisfide . But I would like
to Be with you when you get
to thrashing wheat But you sea how
it is I Cant Come

we have the yanks to thrash
some times and some times they get
some of the Best of it them selves
so pon the hole I dont think thar is
much to be made by fiting. I wish
this war was over and we all cood
come home to stay . I have a chance to come
home But it is too Short atime for me and
ther fore I will not come 30 days is soon
gone and I would hate to leave home
worsan ever so I will pospone coming home
for awhile .. I would like to see you all
vary well and Spend a few month with
you all. So I will close By Saing to
you to write oftin yours as ever

I this morning to
answer you kind and loving letter
which I received a few days ago
By Daniel Bradly which give me
grate plesure to here from you all
and to here that you was well . .
aunt I have no news of importan[?]
to write only I am well and all
of the Co except B. C. Shull. [3] he
has been vary sick But is now
on the mend . I think he will
get a sick Furlow as soon
as he gets able to come home . .
aunt I have a chance to come
home for thirty days But I do
not think that it will pay me
to come home to stay shuch litle
time and therfore I will not come
at present But I intend to come

home after while if I can get the
chance Aunt ever thing is quiet
on our lines this morning we have
lots of news from v.a. it is reporte
d that ywell has taken
Baltimore and is shelling washing
sity But this news is not
reliable . . Aunt i am vary
well satisfide with my condition
as a solger But I had rather Be at home
But you no how it is.. Aunt I
would like to see you all the Best
in the world Bout it is so that I
Cant Come home and stay and I
dont think that I would be as well
satisfide to come home and stay 10
or 12 days as I would to stay here
Aunt I want you all to write to me
oftin I now you have a better chance
to write then I have Give my old spe
cks to all friends and receive the same
