Dear cousin I seat my Self tow drop you
a few lines tow let you now that I am well
at this time and hope whin these few lines reaches you
may find you well wee have Some right rough weather
it has bin raining for two or three days and it is
still raining yet: John wee havent had ary fight
yet but I dont now how soon wee have bin
expectin a fight for at newbron for they week but
it has not come tow hand yet I under stnd
that they was a very heavey sleet up with you Some
time back wee diden have none heare
health in our regiment has improved Theire is
about a hundred in the regment that is not able
for duty wee have lost a nother good Soldier
out of oue company J.S.White John I
want you tow r write tow mee and tell mee
how many sqirles and rabits that you cilled a
christmas I must close for this time excuse
my bad righting and spelling Daniel Carter
and J David is well give my love tow
your mother and the rest of the familey
