Der Nancy I recievd your leter
yesterday morning and was glad to
lern that you was wel your leter
found me wel also. I got som leters
that you wrote to me when I was
at garysburge. I hav on hand four of
your leters which I expect to read
at lesure moments as it is the only
Comfort I hav. the times are very
calm here now ther is no talk of
a batle shortly we think that times
will soon begi to get beter for the
enemy has tasted the fruits of war
as wel as ous it seems a hororable
pil to either side but we can stand
it as long as they that they hav
found out it isent nesessary for
me to write anything a bout the
war for I dont know much to write
I was gld to lern that you hadent
gave me up yet and that rememberd
me in you prars for that is the most
good that you can do me now I also
remember you in the sam manner
and expect to as long life permits I
lernd that ant nancy was praying for
me constantly and I think that the
prars wil most assurdly be answerd
sooner or later that is my ernest request
is for you and everybody els to aid me
in that particular for that is the
moste good that any friend can do
me now
