Manassas Junction Virginia Sept 1st 1861
Dear Nancy Williams I
hav seated my self for the purpose
of answering your leter I recievd a fryday
which did offord me satisfaction to
read I hav recievd all the leters that
you hav writen me for I hav got them
you wrote me when I was at garysburg
your leter found me well but very
tired for I had to cook that day and
I tel you that I am hard to beat
Dr Hoskins gav me the prais I was
makin biscuits fryday morning and
the Colonel rode by looked at them
like he could eat them they were
raly nice and good the boys said
you said that Charles and Sarah was at your
house the other Sunday but you dident
whether Charles said any thing about writein
to me I wish he would write to me for
havent recievd any from him sece I left
home and I hav wrot and wrote to him
you and Nath are the only persons that
hav wrote to me cence I was at home
and I want you to continue as often
as you can for you dont know how much
good it dos me to get a leter from you tel
Jim and marts John to write to me
and all the rest of folkes that wants to
my love for you is jest the same it
was when I was there so you can depend
a pon it I hav nothing to write a bout the war
you must writ as often as you can your truly H.H. Hanes
