Camp .tayler .V .A .this .8 .day .of .March 1864
My dear wife I now Seat my Self to drop you
afew lines to let you no that I am well at the
present but disharted I heard aman Say this morning that
he had tacon you to rocky river and back if it is So
I dont thank you for no Sutch capers if you cant go
your Self I advise you to Stay at home I wont you to
rite to me whether you have had my watch fixt
yet or not if you hant I wont you to have it
done and about my furlow I dont no how about it
last night I was oferd three hundred and fifty
dollers for it I am now on astuddy whether to Sell
it or ceap it for if this is So I dont Suppose you
wanto See me verry bad but I hope and trust that
it is fals doctrin Mrs Meeks told me night
before last that I Should tel you to not forget
her when you rite to me She wonts to no how you
air She has no compny now She Ses She is So lonsum
me and .W .Huff was at her house last Sunday
evening and She give us afine Supper and told us
to come back and See her again So when ever I wont
Something good to eat I will take awalk up to See her
Hicks . Crowels furlow is out next Sunday and then
my time comes if I dont trade my furlow I will be
at home in about twelve day the Settler [1] Shop at
lynsays turn out was charged afew nights ago by twelve
of our compny and nine of potses compny the provose
guard has tacon them and they will be cortmarseld
to morrow I exspect it will go pretty hard with
them Hall Crowel was into it they cant Shoot
them for it but it will go hard with them

My dear wife I must Soon close as I have nothing of importance
to rite

that the Sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be
compard with the glory whitch Shall be revealed in us for
our light affliction which is but for a moment fear not little flock
for it is your fathers good pleasure to give you all that he posseses we
are willing rather to be absent from the body then to be presen the
time of my departure is at hand arise ye and depart for this is not
your rest because it is polluted let not your hart be trubled our
conversation citisenship are now coming for we no that if one of
us wold die then our conversation will be ended as for me
I will behold thy fase in righteousness I shall be Satisfied
when I awake with thy likeness even to your old age I am he
and even to hoar [2] hairs I will carry you I have made and I will
bear even I will carry and will deliver you in thy presence
is fulness of Joy at the right hand of god thare are pleasures
for evermore
I will now close by asking you to rite
