My dear wife I Seat my Self to answer your cind
letter that I received afew days ago I was glad
to hear from you and hear you air boath well I
am well at the present time and truly hope
when theas few lines reaches you they will find
you boath well my dear you Sead you had my watch
fixt and it only cost twenty five cents that was
verry cheap that is the old price my dear I
can inform you that we have one case of the Small
pocks in camp .James .trexler has got them

my dear wife I have no news to rite only we
will go out on the lines before meny days
we will have more fighting to do this Summer
than ever I dred this Summer but I hope and
trust that I may come through Safe and all
the rest of my fellow Soldiers I can inform
you that I was at abaptising yesterday aman
in our Battalion was baptised they was about
forty ladys at the place and Some of them
looked as Slick as mincks they belonged
to the coledg female coledg

tel her that I Sead I wold Send her aring as
Soon as I get them made tell Sister Mary
that I will Send her aring as Soon as I can
you Sead no boddy hadent planted their crops
yet I think it is getting time the corn
is in the ground they air noboddy planted
out hear yet we fair first Strate out hear now
we have amess of greens evry day and corn bread

and I have no news to rite I can inform you that
you need not tell that lady what I Sead you
Shold in the fore part of my letter for
Daniel will Send her one in this letter tel
her aring and if he ever gets home he intends
to have asweat kiss for the ring my dear wife
I will now close by asking you to rite Soon
