My dear Partha I now Seat my
Self to answer your kind letter that
I received afew days ago I was glad
to hear from you all I am Sorry that
Meyetta has the hooping caugh I thaught
She was well of that long ago my dear
I am well at the present time and I
Still hope theas few lines may find
you all well and in good health
My dear I will now inform you of the
times + first we have verry good times
me and Daniel and about fourty of
the other men hasto take muskets
and act as infentry though we will
not have the Battery we air to protect
the Battery in afight we have Sent
about half of our horses back to
lynchburg to recruet up my dear
I am Sorry that you air treated So
mean but never mind I will bee
along now pretty Shortly

about the furlow you Sead that I
kept putting you off from month
to month well my dear I had to
put you off as I was also but I
hope to take crismess with you if
not Sooner there is but one man
before me and I think I will
get to come before him I Shant
promise you no more for I dont
no my Self but I will bee thair
before long I reckon you can answer
this letter yet before I get my furlow
my dear I wold like to Send you
Some money but I hant got none my
Self we hant bin paid off for five
months and we will not get paid off till
newyears and then I will get about
one hundred and fifty dollers my dear I
must now close by asking you to rite Soon
