My dear wife I now Seat my Self to
drop you afew lines to inform you that
I reached camp thursday night about
11 o clock we caim through Safe but
my dear I never Shal be Satisfied no
more. until. I get back with you
again . god bless your sweat hart I
am worse out of hart now then I ever
was in my life . but I hope that
it wont bee long till we can meet
again. we have astrong talk of peace
out hear they ware Some men in
richmond to day offord to bet as high
as ahundred thusand dollers that
the war wold be ended in fifteen
days and I think theas men knows
Something about the matter I think
we will have aspeedy peace before
long and god hasten the time . I
long to See the time come ing .
my dear Partha I cannot rite you
along letter for my hart is all
most broken

Malley . Crowel will be at home in
afew days on furlow.and I have averry
good pair of Shoos that I will Send
by him to you . he will be at home
about the middle of next weak he
will Start from hear this coming
monday and you can go to his house
and get them . they hant apretty
pair of Shoos but they air good .So
my dear I have no news that will
comfort you eny . and I beleave I will
close .by asking you to rite Soon and
remember me your dear tru love
be Shore and go to Crowels and get
your Shoos I must now close So
