Dear wife I rite you a few lines
to let you no that I am well as
to health but not So by mind
we arived here [a?] life and un
hurt we are in the camp
of instruction to day but
we do not expect to Stay here
verry long we have not bin formed
into any Company yet nor our
names have not bin called
we were left in charge of lieut
little and he [????????? at?]
our tent one [houre?] and I expect
we will be formed into a comp
any before night no pen and to
rite with our fare is worse than
bad flower and old bacon is
all we get to eat rite to me
as soon as you get this and let
me no how you all are
