Camp Hill va
Oct the 28th 1861
Dear father I
now take this opportunity to informe
you that I am well at this time
and hoping that if thease fiew
lines come to hand they may
find you all enjoying the same
grate blessing from God
I have nothing of importance
to write to you I want you to
write to me as often as you
can and let me know how
you all are geting a long
we have not got that box yet
I would like if you would
come out hier and bring us
some cloathing we ar neading
them very bad now and
we can not have them Sent to us
I do not no what we will
do if we do not get some Soone
it is very cold heir now
but the winter has not began
yet[?] ther has a great many
Sick and Died already by beaing
Exposed to the rain and cold
when on gard that was the caus
of the most of their [?????]
There is Some 2 or 2 hundred
on the Sick List now a good
many of them are not expected to
live one belongs to our company

I will tell you Something about
Times hier Some too or three weeks
ago they they had a little
fracus with the yankeys every
morning but they have not bin
doing any thing at it for Several
days they have stoped the vessels
from passing up by the batery
for several days it is reported that
old abe has give them thirty
days to take the batery away from
their and if it is not done in that
time he will take it himself
he will have a buisy time of it
i woodan be supprised nothing more
at prasent writ Soone
I will Send Some of my
money now to you and I want
you to write wheather you got that
I sent to you frome the shops
I will Send 25 dollars then
I will have but 4.50 cts I think that
it will do me very well I have
done withe 8 ½ cinc I left the Shops
If you could come out I would like for you
to come and bring us some things
that we nead clothing is the thing
that is neaded now So nothing
more now but answe
