Oct the 9 1861
My dear father and mother
I seat my self this morning
to drop you a few lines to
let you know that Jacob and
I are well at present hoping you
all are enjoying the same blessing
Jacob wrote you a letter the other day
he give you about all the nuse that is
worth relating: Captain Roberts is to
start home this morning he is to
by some cloth for uniforms for
the company he will have the clothing
cutout I want you to go to town
and get Jacob & my suits and have
them made for us and keep them
til we send for them: as we will
want our over coats you can send

send them all at the same
time all the boys on suannanoa
will have theres made at home
and it will be best for you
to put them all in a box
to gether so I will bring
my letter to a close so nothing
more I remain your son
