Camp near Tullahoma Tenn
April 30th 1863
Dear Father
as William
Davidson is going to Start home
to marrow I thought I would
write you a few lines to let
you know that I am well at
the presant hopeing these few
lines will find you all well
and doing well I wrote to
Jane a few days a go from the
movements they are a making
I dont think it will be long
till we have a fight they are
moving all the bagage back in
the rear I will Send you
twenty dollars by William
Davidson well I will Close
for I have not time to write
I have not heared anything

more from Sam yet I hope
he will get home before long
write when you can tell me
how wheat looks in old
Buncombe for I am getting
tired ove corn bread and
bacon but I am a feared
we will not get any
better Soon So nothing
more at the presant
