Camp Davis near the Sound June 1863
Mr Jesee Phillips
Dear uncle I seat my self to drop
you a few lines to inform you
that I am Well & harty hopin
those few lines may reach &
find you the same & all of
the famly the same I
have no Strange nuse to
relat at this time We are
campt a bout seven or
eight miles from town We
have a very helthy camp
I cant tell Whether hit
Will be helthy or not We
have good Water as can be
expected down hear I shood
be glad to be at meating to
day but I am a good pease
off I wish you all good
luck if I never sea you
a gane hard times in war

in Camp at presant I Want
you to Write I tell me what
hs become of all the con

a half Pound a day for
two days we get half pound
one day we get a quarter of
a pound we get a right

that I shal get to come
