Petersburg June 3the 1863
Deare Sister
I receaved your welcome
letter this morning & was more than
glad to heare from you all but was
sorry to heare of Frances death
Tell Dump I was much oblige to her
for the 5 Dollars that she sent me tell
her just as soon as I can draw my money
I will send her some coffee or come &
bring it if I can tell her that I
have just woked up frome a knap
of sleep I had a dream about her
I dreamed that she had a fine daughter
if you have answered that other letter
that I wrote you you kneed not
answer this untill you heare from me
again I am at a loss to know what
write you as I have no news of importence
I just stay heare in the hospital & have
no schance of seeing any thing
but I hope in a few days I shall
be able to get a bout in the town

Tell Dump there is one thing that
I want to eat whenever I get home
& that is some fryed schicken tell
Seaf he must save som of his schicken
for me when I come home tel Dump
she must be surten to keep her som
brandy to make bitters for I know
that it will do her more good than
other medderson [1] that she can take 
give my love to Mary & Puss tell
I would like very much to see them
tell Seaf I will bring him
candy when I come home
give my love to all the family
