Wm & Mary Proffit Mutch belovd
Father and Mother after some delay
I again seaze the presant oppertunity
of droping you a few lines to let
know how I am doing I am tolearble
well at presant I am now helping
to nurs untill I git entirly stout
I am faring vary well pleanty to
eat and the weather is vary cool for
this season of the year we haft to ware
our coats of mornings the sick has been
cawled on to defend the Town of Stanton
some three or fawr tines the last cawl
I shourled my mustet and went out
but saw no yankees the turned out
all that could walk if the had come we
would have give them jesse
I begin to want to go to the regiment
vary bad to see A.j. and hear from home as
I suppose you write him and git

hear from you all the worst in the worst in

the wourld and I think when I git to
the Regt I can hear I am out hear whare
I dont hear any thing but lys
crops ar fine in this cuntry also fruit
and vegitables and I hope they are in N.C.
as to day is inspection of the Hospitaal
and things flousterated I cant write
and I will seace to write
you may thint as I have writeing
you so long a bout going to my Regt
and am not gon yet I have been
vary sick but I have never been
confined to my bed a day yet I have
been so I could go any whare I wanted
to &c These lines leavs me well
hopeing to see you soon I will close
I remain your beautifull buoy
till death &c
give Sis my love and Respeckes
