Having a good chance to Send
you aletter I take these few
lashure moment in addressing
you I wrote you a letter by mail
yesterday but as it is unseastain
a bout its going I will send one
by (Mr) (Parsons)
I have nothing strainge to write
I am still at the hospital not
because I am not able for duty
I am at hard work cooking
for the Sick and wounded
Times are vary good hear we have
lots to eat.
I would have wrote you but the
rail roads has been torn up by
the yankees So the Mail could
not pass I suppose you have
been vary uneasy about me

If you are a mind to bee flustrated
a bout sutch a beeing as I am
but I am proud to tell you
that I am all right on the
goose
I am thinking long of the time
that I cince I heard from you
and the rest of my friends if any
in the old North State)
which I hope I have if I
knew I was destitute of friends
thare I dont think that I should
bee So keen to return as I am
I want you to write me a long
letter as soon as you git this
give me a full account of our
affars at home the Small grain
the corn crop the fruit and
in form me how those trees
don that I hope Set out &c &c

Give me some intelligence of
A.j. ,P.W, S.W. H.W. and W.W. J. Miller
as I have not heard from
any of them cince the fight
Except A.j. and nothing from
him only that he was capturd
Write me in ansur to all this soon
Sis we have woman hear in
the hospital attend to the men
who call them selvs Sisters
of Charity belonging to the
Catholick church and they
will not Marry it is against
their profeshion to Marry
They dress in a different way fron
any other woman I wish you
could see one of their bonnets
I just think you would lauf
till you could not Stand

I wish I could describe them
to you but I cant I dont think
any other person on earth could
They remind me more of some
great fowl with its wings spread
in the air to Sore a loft in
the skise then any thing else
as I have no more news I will
close by requesting you to write soon
Tell unkle sams folkes and
Mcalkins and Thomas that I
am all rite and would like
to see them &c

they may find you fat and stout
