good nuse to rite we are in Camp betwen
federix burg and hand over Junction
the wether is very cold and wet and mody
Jim we fite her evry now and then i was
in a fite on the 8 we Cut an Slash 3 or 4
ours mi file leder got shot of[f] ov his horse
i had to stop mi mare to keep from runin
over him the ball went threw his head
the boolets and bum Shels flew all round
me thick i thaut mi time had Com but i
Com threw safe as good luck wood hav it
Jim i was in a nother fite on the 17
it lasted about a nower we whip
the yankees and took 200 Prisners and
Capterd all the Camp and wagons and 200
horses we had to Cros back over the river
the yankees was as mad as hornets we kill
som of them and and they kill som of us
hard times her no chance fore a man to
live long her i dew hope and pray that i
will Com threw safe but i dont see much
chance the yankees is Comin now the Canons
is roarn now i hav herd over a hunderd
this morning they are getin Cloaser and thicker
we will hav to sadle up and go in to fitin if
the yankees dont quit Jim the yankees is as thick
as blackbirds every time we kill one ther Coms 2 in
thare places we cant keep them back hardly if we

Jim i reckon is at hom he will mis
