My Dear companion I write to you once more to let
you know that I am here at Raleigh yit well
and my feet and legs is better but not Rite
well yit I am waiten on the sick and wounded
at this time I cant tell you how long I will Stay
here I wrote to you since I come to this place and
got no answer yit I am looking for a letter every
day from you but hasent got it yit I dont know
whether you git the letters I send to you or not
I got the shirt you sent me by josey Fisher
it come in good time for I needed it I wrote in
the other letter to you the ones that was killd and
I will write it to you agin Thompson Brown J. S. Lee
Franklin Loftin was killd and there was 14
killd and wounded in our company up to the
22tt of the ult and I havent herd herd from [1]
them since I still here of fighten goin on
a bout Richmond and Petersburg and you may
guess there is some one hurt but I cant tell who

I hear that Thomas Sherrill is killd and Nelson
Sherrills taken prisner I fear that our men is
not f so well but I still live in hopes that
we will drive the yankees back I send this letter
by mr Allen jo as he has come to see his son
he will start home to morrow or the next day I want
to know how mr Bynum is gitten a long and
Elihugh Gants Tell Elihugh I want him to write
to me I want to here from him and all the folks
about thar if you git any letters from your People or
mine I want you to write how they are gitten along
so I will close for this time by askin you to
write soon I write to you most Every week and
I dont know if you git them or not I will send
you ten stamps in this letter Direct your letter to

close for this time write soon and let me hear
from you and am your Husband till Death
