Dear loveing wife I Set mi Self
don to rite you afew lines to
let you no that I am tolerbel
well at pres ant and I hope and
pray to god when those few lines
cums to your loveing hands
that tha may find you and all
of our children well and dooing
the best you can Dear love I
can Say to you that I received
your kind letter the other eveng
that you rote the 11th of this month
and I was not well mi leg was
verry bad but it is gitting
better fast I think it will git
well before long Dear love
I would wrote the next day but
it was Socold her that I nareley
frose mi hands was So Stif that
I couldent rite but it is warm
and purty to day Dear love I
want you to rite often and let me
no how you ar gitting along

leg was verry bad then i went
to the doctor and he give me
Some medicine to take and I
got better the reck ley leg I was [1]
Sweld all over and mi rite
leg was Sweld what the skin
would hold and I thort it would
brake open bit it dident I think
it will git well in a few days
more I think it was cold in mi
leg and made me Swell Some
all over and I felt verry bad
but I was not Sick
Dear loveing wife I want to See
you all verry bad I dont hard
ley no how you look enny more
but I hope and pray to god that
this war will Soon end So I
can git home one time more
to See you all agane and Stay
with you
