Dear wife and family it is
with plesure i seat my
self to drop you a few
lines to let you no that i
am wel hopeing when
theas lines come to hand
they wil find you all
wel we are here and wil
stay here tel to morow for
it is raneing towo hard to
travel i feal a heap better
then i did when i left
home i think i wil get wel
as ever soon we had good
luck in getting here but
it costs us a heap i wont
have near money a nuf
to take me to the redgment
but i can get from the
rest and wil pay them

there i have no news
to rite at this time i want
you to rite as son as you
get this letter and give me
all the news i think i
wil get to the redement
as soon as you can rite
it was hard for me to part
with you all but i hope
i wil bea spard to get
back a gane so nothing
more at presant but
remane your frend and
