Dear wife and family it
great plesure i seat my
self to drop you a few
lines to let you no that
i am wel hopeing when
theas lines come to hand
they wil find you all
wel i can tel you that
we are on our way to
gordens ville i rote
you a letter the other
day and dident have time
to finish in i now drop
you a few lines to let you
no that i got your letters
of the tenth 10 and 11 i
was glad to hare from
you all i can te you we
have cold weth here now
we rid all nite last
nite i never was as cold

in my life i cant rite
much more for it is two
cold and i hant time
all i can tel you i
am doing the best i can
i would like to sea you
all i want you to try and do
the best you can i am glad
to hare you have got a
school send all you can
rite and give me all the
news tel me what made the
the old man sel abe i now
give my bes respects to you
all and if we meat no
more on this world i want
to meat you all at gods
rite hand though we are
fare a part this chrismas
i hope we wil meat a
gane so howdy to you all
