Camp Near Peters Burg
dear wife it is with
pleasure i seat my self
this evening to drop you a
few lines to let you no
that I am wel hopeing
theas few lines wil find
you all wel i have no
news to rite at this time
only I have got my
horse condemd and i expect
to start home in a few
days i dident no when i
rote yestarday that i would
get my nag condemd so
soon i rite you this letter
for the purpose of teling you
not to rite enny more

tel my baby to have a redy
for me
tel i rite to you a gane
for i expect to get home
some time the last of this
month for i dont want
every boddy to sea my letters
i expect to fetch two horses
and i want to trade one
or both of them or one to
ride back there is no fiteing
going on here now and I
hope there wont bea tel i
get started home i dont no
how long a detale i wil
get but i expect about as
long as i had before i believe
i wil stop riteing for
this time i only rote this to
let you no that i was going to
come home i am yours truly
